Job summary

Okta Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer on the OIG team in San Francisco to drive end-to-end design, development, and maintenance of enterprise-grade identity governance features.

You will own features from architecture through deployment, coordinating with product, QA, and SRE teams to ensure secure, scalable delivery. The role emphasizes distributed systems, microservices, and data modeling with modern JVM/cloud-native stacks such as Java, Kotlin, or Go.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of production software development experience.
• Experience with large-scale distributed systems for enterprise customers.
• Strong knowledge of microservices, APIs, and data modeling.

Responsibilities

• Take end-to-end ownership of feature areas — from technical design through implementation, testing, deployment, and post-launch monitoring.
• Design, build, and ship high-quality, production-ready features across the OIG system, with a focus on correctness, reliability, and performance.
• Quickly deliver high-quality bug fixes and handle customer-reported issues.
• Write clean, well-tested, maintainable code and hold yourself and teammates to a high bar for engineering quality.
• Partner with Product Development, QA, and Site Reliability Engineering teams for scoping the development and deployment work.
