Job summary

Okta Inc. is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for the OIG team in Bellevue, WA. You will own and evolve features across the OIG system, delivering secure and scalable access governance capabilities for enterprise customers.

You will design and implement high-quality backend services, partner with cross-functional teams, and ensure reliability, security, and performance at scale for millions of users.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience.
• Architecting and delivering large-scale, distributed systems for enterprise customers.
• Experience with microservices, event-driven architectures, APIs, and data modeling at scale.
• Strong proficiency in one or more back-end languages (Java, Kotlin, Go).

Responsibilities

• Take end-to-end ownership of feature areas—from design to deployment and post-launch monitoring.
• Design, build, and ship production-ready features across the OIG system with emphasis on correctness, reliability, and performance.
• Address customer-reported issues promptly with high-quality bug fixes.
• Write clean, well-tested, maintainable code and uphold high engineering standards.
• Collaborate with Product Development, QA, and Site Reliability Engineering teams for scoping and deployment.
