Okta seeks a Staff Engineer for the OIG team to lead end-to-end development of enterprise-grade features at scale. You will shape the architecture across access governance and collaborate with product, design, and engineering to deliver secure, reliable capabilities used by thousands of enterprises.

You should have a strong background in distributed systems and cloud-native backends, with a track record of delivering production features and mentoring teams.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with independent ownership in production
• Architecting and delivering large-scale distributed systems in production for enterprise customers
• Deep expertise in microservices, event-driven architectures, APIs, and data modeling at scale
• Proficiency in Java, Kotlin, Go or equivalent JVM/cloud-native languages
• Ability to influence without authority across teams and stakeholders
• Experience designing systems for enterprise reliability, scalability, and security (RBAC/ABAC, multi-tenancy, HA)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsabilités

• Take end-to-end ownership of feature areas from design through deployment and monitoring
• Design, build, and ship production-ready features across the OIG system with a focus on correctness and performance
• Deliver high-quality bug fixes and respond to customer-reported issues
• Write clean, well-tested, maintainable code and uphold engineering quality
• Collaborate with Product Development, QA, and SRE teams for scoping and deployment
