Job summary

The Hartford is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join our growing Technology Team. This hybrid role requires delivering small to medium software products with end-to-end ownership, influencing solution architecture, and leading enterprise CI/CD initiatives.

Experience across AWS IaC, cloud-native design, and DevOps practices is essential. The position offers collaboration across teams and opportunities to mentor others in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code using IaC (AWS CDK or similar).
Design and support enterprise CI/CD pipelines.
Experience with event-driven architectures and cloud-native applications.
Experience supporting mission-critical customer-facing platforms.
AWS certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

Own the delivery of small to medium software products.
End-to-end solution delivery across platforms and technologies.
Influence software design and architecture across the product team.
Lead DevOps practices and tooling decisions; mentor teammates.
Promote code quality, automated testing, and environment management.
