Job summary

CVS Health in Hartford, CT is seeking a Staff Software Development Engineer to design and deliver scalable software across multiple applications, focusing on cloud-native microservices and API-driven solutions. You will guide the full software lifecycle, collaborate with stakeholders, and contribute to digital transformation using Java/J2EE, REST, Spring, and CI/CD tooling.

This senior role requires strong experience with modern DevOps practices, AWS/Azure/GCP, and containerization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field with five years of post-baccalaureate experience.
• Five years of experience in CI/CD, Jenkins, GIT, or DevOps.
• Proficiency in Java, Python, or Node.js.
• Experience with JSON and Web Service APIs.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies or SAFe.
• ATG Commerce or Spring Boot microservices experience.
• Knowledge of Redis, Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with JIRA, Rally, or Confluence.
• Cloud technologies: Azure, AWS, and GCP.
• Experience writing production-ready code and backend services.
• Relational database concepts.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver efficient software solutions across multiple applications.
• Develop interactive web applications using modern toolsets and testing automation.
• Contribute across the full software development life cycle and mitigate risks before production.
• Design and develop large, complex systems and digital platforms.
• Lead digital transformation and architecture, enabling an API-driven, cloud-native stack.
• Collaborate with owners and partners to meet business needs and roadmap.
• Provide QA planning, metrics, and test strategies for large-scale projects.
