Zipline is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for the Nest Applications team to shape the customer experience of software used to order, track, and manage healthcare deliveries. You will build customer-facing products that are clear, trustworthy, and easy to use, even when direct feedback is limited.

This hands-on, full-stack role rewards strong product instincts and a high bar for UX, guiding the team to go beyond functionality and deliver intuitive experiences that delight end users.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of production software engineering experience with staff-level scope.
• Strong full-stack ability: modern frontend (React or similar) and backend (Go/Python).
• Track record delivering external customer-facing products where UX impacts adoption and outcomes.
• Experience with limited releases, feature flags, beta programs, experiments, or phased rollouts.
• Ability to mentor engineers and lead delivery in a fast-changing environment.
• Clear, effective English communication and customer-focused mindset.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of customer-facing applications for ordering, tracking, and delivery.
• Own major projects end-to-end: user flows, architecture, data models, implementation, and post-launch metrics.
• Create fast feedback loops with customers via conversations, analytics, and limited releases.
• Implement gradual-release practices with feature flags or beta programs.
• Raise frontend UX quality, accessibility, and product polish.
• Collaborate with operations, supply chain, finance, and customer teams to solve high-impact problems.
• Improve reliability, testing, observability, and engineering practices across owned apps.
• Mentor engineers and set product-minded technical standards.
