Vanta is hiring a Staff Software Engineer to set technical direction and scale our product and infrastructure. You will drive complex initiatives, lead cross-functional work, and mentor an engineering team to elevate performance while delivering high-impact solutions for enterprise customers.

The role blends hands-on development with leadership and strategic thinking, requiring strong architecture skills and a track record of delivering scalable SaaS platforms.

Qualifications

• Over 10 years of industry experience with deep expertise in frontend, databases, distributed systems, APIs, or AI.

Responsibilities

• Identify, scope, and lead large technical projects, laying the groundwork for scalable systems.
• Drive a portfolio of complex initiatives spanning multiple quarters with impact across product areas.
• Rally cross-functional teams to drive initiatives to completion without direct management.
• Make strategic decisions that influence technical direction and long-term success.
• Champion engineering excellence by improving processes, methodologies, and practices.
• Guide teams on tough technical decisions, balancing tradeoffs and resolving conflicts.
• Address product, technical, and operational challenges with clear solutions.
• Serve as a cultural leader and mentor engineers to elevate performance.
