Job summary
Vanta is hiring a Staff Software Engineer for the Government team to set the technical foundation for compliance programs across federal agencies, vendors, and SLED organizations. You will shape capabilities, drive durable patterns, and partner with early design partners to evolve the platform for government use.

Qualifications
- 10+ years of backend engineering experience in product-focused environments.
- Strong systems thinking and platform-architecture skills for reuse and scalability.
- Experience leading multi-quarter technical initiatives across teams and products.
Responsibilities
- Own the technical strategy and architecture for the government product line.
- Lead the design and build of new platform capabilities with early design partners.
- Define reusable abstractions and patterns to prevent tech debt during growth.
- Collaborate with adjacent teams on shared infra and tagging for gov workflows.
- Drive multi-quarter initiatives across engineering, product, and go-to-market.
- Mentor and raise the technical quality of the team.
