Job summary

RIS Rx is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to act as a hands‑on technical leader across platforms handling GTN revenue leakage. You will own ambiguous, cross‑cutting systems across multiple teams, setting technical direction and mentoring engineers during a period of rapid growth.

You will define architecture, drive observability and modernization, and raise the engineering bar through code quality and collaboration. A strong background in Go/TypeScript and AWS is required.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software development experience, including leadership of cross‑team projects.
• Expert‑level proficiency in Go and TypeScript.
• Designing and scaling distributed systems and APIs for high‑volume production.
• Deep experience with AWS (Lambda, S3, Terraform).
• Advanced PostgreSQL with optimization, design, and data modeling.
• Familiarity with React and Next.js.
• Strong CI/CD, test automation, infrastructure‑as‑code, and observability.
• Healthcare data or pharmaceutical‑manufacturer integrations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve the architecture of systems spanning multiple teams for scalability and reliability.
• Drive observability, performance, and modernization of the codebase.
• Set coding standards, design conventions, and best practices.
• Write and review high‑quality production code and mentor teammates.
• Serve as a technical escalation point for critical production issues and root‑cause analysis.
• Plan and sequence complex, multi‑component work and navigate trade‑offs.
• Mentor engineers and clearly explain trade-offs to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
