Labcorp Genetics is seeking a Staff Software Engineer, Variant Classification to join our genetics team. You will design and build tools to define, store, and provide variant and sample level information to support accurate interpretation and reporting.

This full-time, first-shift role offers hybrid work for nearby locations and requires extensive Python, RESTful APIs, databases, front-end skills, and cloud experience. Collaboration with data scientists and software engineers is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of professional software development experience.
• 10+ years of Python development experience.
• 10+ years of experience with relational databases and web frameworks.
• 10+ years of front-end technologies (React, Angular, Vue.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML/CSS).
• 10+ years of experience with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
• 10+ years of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• 10+ years of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

Responsibilities

• Design and build tools for variant, sample, and test level information.
• Translate raw bioinformatic data into structured variant information.
• Scale and optimize storage of sample level information.
• Provide annotations for accurate variant interpretation.
• Automate evidence placement and classification for interpretation.
• Collaborate with data scientists and software engineers to meet requirements.
