Job summary

CVS Health Digital is seeking a Staff Software Development Engineer - Fulfillment to lead and contribute as a senior backend engineer building our next-generation platform. Qualifications

• 7+ years of software development in enterprise / web / cloud applications.
• 5+ years backend software development experience with Java, Spring Boot, Kafka.
• 3+ years of distributed caching experience.
• 3+ years of experience in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure; GCP preferred).
• 3+ years of experience designing, developing and operationalizing microservices in cloud native environments.
• 3+ years of technical lead experience in a matrixed environment, mentoring engineers and collaborating across teams.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and implement highly scalable, fault-tolerant cloud-native services using Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines.
• Apply advanced software engineering practices across the full SDLC, including DDD, design patterns, secure coding, and automated testing.
• Troubleshoot and lead resolution of complex distributed system issues, including data consistency and performance bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with product, architecture, and business stakeholders to define long-term roadmaps and measurable KPIs.
• Design and enforce microservice resiliency patterns and real-time data streaming pipelines (Kafka, Pub/Sub).
