Job description

For our client, we are seeking a Staff Software Engineer, Frontend (Decisions Orechestration) to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space.

This role will shape the technical direction of a frontend engineering team responsible for decision-making orchestration experiences and the supporting web application architecture. You will partner closely with product management, design, and analytics to balance technical sustainability, product needs, and operational risk. The position calls for someone who can influence strategy, raise engineering standards, and help the team deliver reliable, high-quality customer experiences at scale.

Location: Remote

Compensation: $230,000 – $290,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Set the technical strategy for the team over a year-long timeframe.
• Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics to manage technical sustainability and risks.
• Act as a force-multiplier by defining and advocating for technical solutions and processes.
• Ensure team operations and availability through effective monitoring and on-call strategies.
• Foster a culture of quality by setting code review and design standards.
• Develop talent on the team through feedback and guidance.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in developing and architecting web applications using frameworks like React or Vue.
• Proficient in Javascript/Typescript.
• Experience delivering major features and defining technical execution plans.
• Ability to navigate from low-level language idioms to large system architecture.
• Demonstrated growth through feedback iteration with peers.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.
