Job summary

Chainguard is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join our Developer Platform team. This team builds the “Factory” that powers Chainguard Engineering, handling internal infrastructure, automation, and AI tooling that lets our engineers ship secure software at scale.

You’ll own meaningful pieces of these problems, contribute to direction, and partner with engineering leaders across the org to drive DORA-aligned outcomes and deliver a standardized paved road for new and existing products to ship

Qualifications

8+ years building and operating production services and platform infrastructure in modern cloud environments.
Proficiency with Go (Golang) or strong readiness to ramp quickly.
Deep technical expertise in CI/CD systems, container-based orchestration, and scaling monorepos.
Experience contributing to technical direction across multiple teams.
Familiarity with Agentic AI / LLM-based automation in production.
Excellent communication and collaboration across teams.

Responsibilities

Take ownership of significant pieces of the Developer Platform across monorepo CI/CD and shared build infrastructure.
Author technical architectural design documents and coordinate across teams.
Improve speed and reliability of the monorepo CI/CD pipeline.
Explore change-throughput beyond PR-based workflows and enable automated validation.
Productionize the Agentic AI platform including observability and memory patterns.
Consolidate build systems and deliver standardized blueprints for onboarding to mono.
Mentor teammates, raise design and code review standards, and improve velocity.
