Job summary

Huntress is hiring a Staff Software Engineer to advance detection engines and pipelines within a security-focused platform. The role emphasizes building scalable Go services, leading cross-team initiatives, and ensuring reliability for the SOC.

Remote US-friendly, with a focus on high throughput and maintainable detections. The position requires deep experience with production systems, observability, and a hands-on approach to code reviews and technical leadership.

Qualifications

• Deep experience designing, building, and operating production distributed systems at scale, primarily in Go.
• Experience with high-volume event or data pipelines and behavior under load.
• Strong operability instincts with observability and alerting baked in.
• Demonstrated technical leadership across team boundaries.
• Judgment about production quality: when to ship, evaluate, and retire old paths.
• Hands-on experience with AI coding tools and security outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Modernize detection engine and pipelines, aligning with Sigma v2 and stateful correlation.
• Ensure reliability under load with latency measurement, liveness, and bounded spikes.
• Define event schemas and data contracts; drive validation and drift-detection tooling.
• Lead major workstreams across teams and set architectural direction.
• Write and review production code weekly.
