Job summary

Our Future Health is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to shape and build shared engineering capabilities for data platforms. You will blend hands-on software engineering with staff-level technical leadership, working on large-scale data systems and reusable tooling across multiple teams.

You will lead technical strategy, mentor engineers, and help design scalable architectures for sensitive health data systems, while collaborating with cross-functional teams and external partners.

Qualifications

• Led architectural design of complex systems.
• Cloud-native data processing at scale (Azure, AWS, GCP).
• Experience with Kubernetes-based platforms and tooling.
• Infrastructure as code with Terraform/Ansible.
• Proficient in Python; familiar with Dagster/Prefect/Airflow.
• Experience with Spark/Databricks and data lakes/lakehouses.
• Strong in CI/CD, code reviews, TDD, and pairing.

Responsibilities

• Guide technical decisions with product and EM.
• Represent tech in cross-functional teams across project lifecycles.
• Collaborate with Head of Data Eng and peers on architecture improvements.
• Lead critical technical strategy and implementation decisions.
• Deliver high-impact hands-on work to progress pipelines and data systems.
• Integrate partner systems with Our Future Health platforms.
• Mentor engineers and support live operations and incidents.
• Stay up-to-date with best practices in software engineering.
