Job summary

H-E-B Digital is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to provide technical leadership across Cost & Pricing, partnering with Engineering Managers, Product Managers, and Tech Leads to drive architecture, modernization, and delivery outcomes. You will help define strategy, simplify complex systems, and establish scalable solutions that support modernization initiatives.

You will mentor engineers, influence standards, and lead cross-team initiatives spanning legacy retirement and cloud-native platform

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software development experience.
• Experience with Git, Jira, and Confluence.
• Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.
• Expert understanding of SDLC and Agile frameworks.
• Experience with unit tests and testable code.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership across Cost & Pricing services and platforms.
• Lead complex initiatives, unblock teams, and guide delivery of critical objectives.
• Define technical standards and mentor engineers across multiple teams.
• Review epics, prioritize work, and manage cross-team dependencies.
• Communicate strategy and modernization roadmaps to stakeholders.
