Gusto in Denver is seeking a hands-on senior software engineer to own the end-to-end 401(k) systems, shipping production code and evolving architecture to scale for tens of thousands of businesses.

You will work with product, compliance, and operations to translate complex financial requirements into reliable software, while mentoring teammates and improving observability and reliability.

Competenze

• 8+ years of software engineering experience shipping production products.
• Strong experience with services and APIs.
• Experience with message-based systems: Sidekiq, SQS, NServiceBus.
• Experience with GraphQL and large frontend apps like React.
• Own end-to-end systems including production support.
• Collaborate with PMs and cross-functional partners to deliver scoped work.

• Design, build, maintain, and ship services to offer and manage 401(k)s for employees.
• Extend and modify architecture to support new capabilities.
• Codify and evangelize engineering best practices.
• Scope work with product, design, and operations to deliver production-ready solutions.
