Job summary

Temporal Technologies is seeking a Senior Software Development Manager to lead the Compute team, building the foundation for AI workloads at scale. You will direct strategy, hire and mentor a high-ownership team, and drive a roadmap that makes compute invisible to customers while ensuring reliability and cost efficiency.

The role emphasizes hands-on architectural judgment, fleet efficiency, and cross‑team collaboration with product, security, and partner customers to deliver a durable platform

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading software engineering teams that build and operate large-scale compute platforms or fleets.
• 15+ years in software/infrastructure engineering with 10+ years of people management.
• Deep distributed-systems and compute infrastructure depth with hands-on architectural judgment.
• Experience operating multi-tenant compute with production workloads.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field; advanced degree a plus.
• Excellent communication skills across engineering, product, and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Strategic direction for Compute: own strategy and standards for the compute layer with a culture of ownership and customer-first decisions.
• Technical leadership: hire, grow, and coach a high-ownership team; stay close to design docs and code.
• Roadmap & trajectory: steer compute toward next-generation platforms based on feedback and fast-moving requirements.
• Operational excellence: own on-call, incident response, and postmortems for reliability as the product.
• Technical depth: guide architectural decisions for large-scale, multi-tenant compute (isolation, security, scheduling, performance).
• Capacity, supply & economics: own utilization, capacity planning, and cost-per-unit of compute.
• Cross-team & customer execution: align priorities with leadership, product, SDK, UX/DX, security, and customers.
