Job summary

Equinix is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to build easy to operate, reliable and high-performing applications and networking software for our next generation networking platform. You’ll develop scalable networking services on network-adjacent compute platforms and contribute to the future-state tech stack across Equinix’ global networks.

You will lead design discussions, implement robust tests, and work across cross-functional teams to deliver production-ready software.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in software development, building reliable distributed systems
• Experience building multi-tenant networking platforms at scale with cloud-native tech
• Understanding of L2/L3 networking protocols and concepts (BGP, EVP-LAN, IPSEC)
• Experience with containerization/orchestration: Docker/Kubernetes
• Experience with public cloud services (AWS/GCP/Azure) and automation in Kubernetes deployments
• Proficiency in Golang
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Participate in designing ecosystem of software services for networking platform
• Collaborate to design scalable distributed systems
• Engage in code reviews to maintain high-quality code
• Contribute tests to CI/CD pipelines
• Identify technical debt and drive quality improvements
• Work with support/ops to operationalize software in Production
• Drive culture of innovation and collaboration
• Participate in incident management and on-call rotation
• Follow cross-functional collaboration approaches
