Job summary

CVS Health Digital is seeking a Staff Software Development Engineer who will serve as both technical lead and individual contributor to build our next‑generation platform and deliver use cases into products that help people live healthier lives.

You will design scalable solutions, participate in architecture discussions, review code, mentor junior developers, and collaborate with business and IT leaders to drive delivery excellence in a fast‑moving digital environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience delivering enterprise solutions in a large-scale distributed software design environment.
• 5+ years of Java development experience.
• 5+ years of enterprise cloud initiatives and solutions with cloud computing technologies.
• 5+ years of designing and developing modern microservices and cost-effective APIs.
• 3+ years of experience working on CI/CD Pipeline automation.
• 3+ years of experience working in an Agile‑based development environment.
• 2+ years of Agentic AI / Generative AI experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement efficient and scalable solutions that meet business requirements and quality standards.
• Contribute to solution design and architecture discussions, collaborating with architects and senior engineers.
• Provide input on technical feasibility, performance optimization, and scalability considerations to ensure that the overall solution meets the desired objectives.
• Participate in code reviews and ensures adherence to coding standards, best practices, and quality guidelines.
• Communicate and coordinate with team members to ensure alignment, provide technical insights, and contribute to decision-making processes.
• Contribute to the adoption of best practices, new technologies, and tools to enhance productivity, efficiency, and code quality.
• Participate in knowledge sharing activities, such as code reviews, tech talks, and workshops, to foster a culture of learning and collaboration within the team.
• Work with other developers and team members to implement complex features, enhance existing functionality, and ensure the delivery of high-quality code.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior developers, helping them improve their technical skills and grow professionally.
