Job summary

CVS Health Digital is seeking a Staff Software Development Engineer who will serve as both Technical Lead and Individual Contributor to build our next‑generation platform and drive delivery of use cases into products that help people live healthier lives.

You will design scalable solutions, review code, mentor junior developers, and collaborate with architects, business partners, and IT leaders to improve performance and reliability.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of enterprise solution delivery in a large-scale distributed software design environment.
• 5+ years of Java development experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with enterprise cloud initiatives and cloud computing technologies.
• 5+ years of designing and developing modern microservices and cost-effective APIs.
• 3+ years of experience with CI/CD Pipeline automation.
• 3+ years of experience in Agile-based development.
• 2+ years of Agentic AI / Generative AI experience.

Responsibilities

• Leverage expertise to design and implement efficient and scalable solutions that meet business requirements and quality standards.
• Contribute to solution design and architecture discussions, collaborating with architects and senior engineers.
• Provide input on technical feasibility, performance optimization, and scalability considerations to ensure the overall solution meets objectives.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices, and quality guidelines.
• Communicate and coordinate with team members to ensure alignment, provide technical insights, and contribute to decision-making processes.
• Contribute to adoption of best practices, new technologies, and tools to enhance productivity, efficiency, and code quality.
• Participate in knowledge sharing activities such as code reviews, tech talks, and workshops.
• Work with other developers to implement complex features, enhance existing functionality, and ensure the delivery of high-quality code.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior developers.
