Capital One is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead technical delivery for loyalty capabilities within Card Tech+. Based in McLean, VA, this role blends hands-on coding with architectural leadership to deliver scalable cloud-backed solutions.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with product managers, and advocate for engineering excellence while shaping the future of Capital One’s technology stack.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in Software engineering including system design and regular code contributions.
• 1 year of experience using generative AI coding tools to enhance and augment our software development practices and capabilities.
• 7+ years of experience in Back End technologies (Go, Java, Python, Database Design)
• 7+ years of experience in Web technologies (JavaScript, TypeScript and SPA frameworks)
• 7+ years of experience creating and enforcing standards to ensure standardization and simplification of the overall platform
• 7+ years of experience leveraging modern cloud computing platforms effectively (e.g. AWS)
• 7+ years of experience in designing scalable microservice architectures that operate at scale in a complex environment
