Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for Card who will lead architectural design for loyalty rewards and scalable microservices in the cloud. You will contribute code, mentor engineers, and partner with product teams to deliver high-impact features across Card Tech+.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.
• 7+ years in software engineering including system design.
• 1+ year using generative AI coding tools.
• 7+ years in backend technologies (Go, Java, Python, DB design).
• 7+ years in web technologies (JavaScript, TypeScript, SPA frameworks).
• 7+ years designing scalable microservices and cloud use.

Responsibilities

• Architect software and systems powering loyalty rewards.
• Lead quality and engineering excellence across high-volume systems.
• Contribute significant code and mentor engineers.
• Leverage AI coding tools to augment delivery.
• Define features with business partners and evangelize technical vision.
