Job summary

Celestica is seeking a Staff Engineer, Software in Austin, TX to lead the design, development and deployment of software for board management controllers and orchestration software used to monitor and maintain a fleet of devices in data center environments.

The role requires deep expertise with Linux kernel drivers and BMC interfaces, and the ability to mentor a sizable engineering team across hardware and software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 4–12 years of experience in software/embedded systems.
• Experience with BMC and Linux kernel is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development and deployment of software for board management controllers and orchestration software used to monitor and maintain a fleet of devices in data center environments.
• Provide technical leadership and direction to a sizable team of engineers.
• Review customer requirements and may act as primary customer contact.
• Analyze trade-offs in complex systems and recommend solutions.
• Develop deployment strategies and plans.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with customers, users, project managers and other engineers.
• Provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
