Code Red Partners in Austin, TX seeks a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to own the BMC stack for high-density edge servers. You will develop embedded Linux BMC architectures (OpenBMC/AMI MegaRAC or custom) and drive remote management capabilities across IPMI/Redfish/PLDM, while ensuring fail-safe edge reliability.

The role demands deep BMC expertise, low-level software skills in C/C++/Rust, and hands-on hardware bring-up for unstaffed field nodes.

Qualifications

• Dedicated BMC expertise with production experience.
• Low-level software in C/C++/Rust for embedded Linux or RTOS.
• Hands-on hardware bring-up and debugging skills on server-class platforms.
• Familiarity with IPMI, Redfish, MCTP/PLDM, I2C/SMBus, SPI, eSPI, UART.

Responsibilities

• Firmware Architecture: develop and maintain embedded Linux BMC stacks.
• Sideband Hardware Control: manage direct sideband access to CPUs, GPUs, memory, PMICs, and PCIe controllers.
• Remote Management Protocols: implement IPMI, Redfish, MCTP/PLDM, I2C/SMBus, SPI, eSPI, UART.
• Fail-Safe Edge Reliability: build autonomous watchdogs, thermal throttling, and secure OTA updates.
