Job summary

Penn Mutual is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to provide technical leadership for the Brokerage and RIA Technology Team. You will shape architecture, drive major initiatives, and mentor engineers while staying hands-on in delivery.

You will collaborate with product, security, and platform leaders to align roadmaps with business goals and long-term strategy, focusing on scalable, secure, and observable cloud-native solutions.

Qualifications

• Nine or more years of software development experience with significant technical leadership.
• Experience architecting and delivering complex solutions across multiple systems and teams.
• Deep expertise in AWS serverless and cloud-native data architecture.
• Strong knowledge of software architecture, design patterns, and distributed systems.
• Excellent communication to influence decisions across teams and stakeholders.
• Experience mentoring senior engineers and strengthening technical capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the technical direction and architecture for Penn Mutual's Brokerage and RIA Tech Team.
• Partner with product, engineering, architecture, business, cybersecurity, and platform leaders to develop roadmaps.
• Define architecture, reference patterns, and reusable capabilities for AWS serverless data integration.
• Architect complex solutions spanning multiple applications, services, data sources, and platforms.
• Lead cross-team initiatives from analysis through implementation and adoption.
• Establish and drive adoption of technical standards and reusable components.
