Job summary

Docker is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to shape architecture and build core systems for its enterprise agentic platform. You will work in Go on Kubernetes across clouds, writing controllers and owning releases and reliability.

Based in Seattle, WA or Palo Alto, CA, or remote, you will collaborate with security, identity, and observability teams and guide a growing engineering group.

Qualifications

• Built and operated a cloud control plane in production.
• Written Kubernetes controllers or operators; understanding CRDs and declarative config.
• Deep hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider.
• Produced ownership in on-call, incident response, and SLOs.
• Designed distributed systems with fault tolerance and observability.
• Proficient in Go; Docker's backend is Go.

Responsibilities

• Design and build systems that deploy, release, and operate Docker's agentic platform for enterprise customers, in Go and on Kubernetes.
• Ensure platform security, identity, and network boundaries across cloud providers.
• Own the release and supply chain path so deployments are reproducible and trusted.
• Provide production ownership including on-call, SLOs, incident response, and tooling.
• Set technical direction with the architect and leadership; collaborate with partner teams.
• Mentor teammates and raise the bar through design review and testing discipline.
