Job summary

Trase is hiring a Staff Software Engineer to split time between product development and direct customer delivery in Seattle. You will translate customer workflows into production-ready systems, shape the product roadmap, and implement scalable, secure architectures while coding hands-on.

In this senior role you will set technical direction, make key architecture decisions, and mentor others while engaging with customer teams to ensure successful deployments and compliance in regulated

Qualifications

8+ years of software engineering experience
Ability to apply AI/ML techniques to real customer problems
Scalable system design experience
Experience with backend engineering, distributed systems, APIs, data pipelines, cloud infra
Comfort across full stack including frontend interfaces and deployment workflows
Ability to operate in ambiguous customer environments
Strong technical communication with engineers, product teams, executives
High ownership, bias for action, drive outcomes

Responsibilities

Understand customer workflows, pain points, data environments, and constraints
Contribute to core platform and customer-specific integrations
Build AI-enabled applications, agents, and workflow automation
Translate customer needs into technical requirements and plans
Own delivery from prototype to production and ensure secure deployment
Integrate with customer systems, data sources, identity providers, and on-prem/cloud infra
Collaborate with product, engineering, security, and customer teams
Debug issues across application, infrastructure, data, and integration layers
Operate with judgment in environments handling sensitive data
