Job summary

ID.me seeks a Staff Software Engineer (SDE V) to lead the design and delivery of our internal developer platform and AI automation infrastructure. You will own multi-agent workflows, LLM orchestration, and developer-facing tooling to enable scalable software delivery across internal teams.

The role emphasizes internal platform excellence, strong architectural leadership, and collaboration with SRE and security.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Graduate degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• 2+ years at Staff or Principal engineering scope.
• Demonstrated technical leadership: mentoring 2+ engineers or leading architecture reviews.
• Strong coding in Java, Python, or Go.
• Deep experience in microservices, RESTful services, and event-driven architectures.

Responsibilities

• Architect AI-augmented developer tools and internal platforms for scalable software delivery.
• Design agentic systems and LLM orchestration across internal tooling.
• Develop DSLs and FSM abstractions to model complex multi-agent tasks.
• Manage Stateful Context with near real-time memory and shared sessions.
• Build resilient distributed systems with Redis, Kafka, and DLQ bridges.
• Establish AI guardrails, safety logging, and governance policies.
• Provide technical leadership, reviews, and engineering standards for AI agents.
• Measure and improve DevEx through onboarding velocity and deployment success.
