Job summary

Worky in Washington, DC, seeks a Staff Engineer to set the standard for how the Product Team operates—from product discovery to infrastructure management. You will decide what we build, turning vague problems into concrete plans with milestones and KPIs.

You will own how we build it, balancing UI polish with distributed systems tradeoffs, and accelerating the Engineering velocity across teams. You will help raise the AI ceiling and enable agentic workflows to deliver value faster while ensuring

Qualifications

• 8+ years experience as a Software Engineer.
• Computer Science degree.
• Experience designing distributed systems and event-driven architectures.
• Excitement and energy from how fast the field is moving with AI.

Responsibilities

• Set the standard for how the Product Team operates—from product discovery to infrastructure management.
• Decide what we build and translate ambiguous problems into executable plans with phases, sequencing and KPIs.
• Own how we build it, balancing UI polish with distributed systems tradeoffs and accelerating Engineering velocity.
• Raise the AI ceiling by enabling agentic workflows to deliver value faster across the pipeline.
• Build systems our customers rely on with healthy production systems and full visibility for reliability.
