Job summary

Nu is hiring a Staff Software Engineer to lead the Product Workflow Reinvention initiative. You will own the end-to-end technical architecture for AI-native product design and build internal platforms that enable weekly product improvements.

Qualifications

Senior staff-level engineering experience designing, building and operating complex backend systems.
End-to-end architectural ownership with RFCs and primitives for other engineers to build on.
0-to-1 platform delivery leadership in small, fast-moving teams.
Experience building internal tools or platforms used by product teams.
Strong conviction around AI/agentic systems and using tools to accelerate development.
Exceptional written and verbal communication with senior executives.

Responsibilities

Lead the architecture of the orchestration layer and system of record for Product Workflow Reinvention.
Design AI-native platform primitives and state machines for agentic execution.
Make agents reliable and affordable by designing evaluation harnesses and cost-aware patterns.
Ship first-generation workflow tools to reduce slow steps from discovery to deployment.
Operate in a high-autonomy, greenfield environment translating vision into roadmaps and milestones.
