Job summary

Assured in New York City is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to architect, build, and productize our AI/ML infrastructure, bridging research, product, customers, and engineering. You'll own end-to-end architecture for scalable healthcare workflows and drive integration with external systems while ensuring data protection and reliability.

Qualifications

• Must have 5+ years building and scaling distributed systems or workflow-heavy SaaS.
• Must be able to own architecture and make high-stakes decisions in ambiguous, high-growth environments.
• Deep understanding of modern cloud architecture and full software stacks.
• Excellent communication to explain trade-offs to technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Design and evolve a modular, service-oriented architecture to power configurable healthcare workflows at scale.
• Build a workflow orchestration engine capable of thousands of concurrent stateful tasks.
• Define and optimize integration frameworks to connect with external systems — portals, APIs, PDFs, spreadsheets.
• Lead AI-powered digital workers deployment and evaluation of AI tools and frameworks.
• Partner with product, engineering, and analytics to discover use cases and deliver value.
