Job summary

Carta, Inc. is the connected platform and AI-native ecosystem for private capital. As a Staff Engineer in the Middle Office, you’ll anchor the technical health and strategic direction of the unit, focusing on private equity, AI-powered data ingestion, portfolio valuation, and fund forecasting.

You’ll lead cross-team collaboration and set engineering standards to scale our products. You’ll guide decisions across Python/Django, React, and Postgres, with exposure to JVMs, gRPC, and AWS.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience with a track record of high-level technical leadership.
• Experience building distributed systems using Python/Django, React, and Postgres.
• Ability to guide across JVM languages, gRPC, and cloud-native AWS.
• Strong leadership through influence and vision.

Responsibilities

• Own long-term technical health and strategic direction of the Middle Office.
• Lead architectural changes to improve scalability and reliability.
• Bridge cross-functional teams to align major technical decisions.
• Define the AI frontier and establish rails for safe AI adoption.
• Mentor senior engineers and uphold engineering standards.
