Cambly Inc. is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to own the technical direction of our products.

You will lead the backend systems, APIs, data models, and services, and ensure they ship reliably from design through launch while collaborating with product managers, designers, and engineers. You will work across the stack as needed, set the technical bar, and mentor engineers, with a strong emphasis on AI-first development and scalable architecture.

Competenze

• 7+ years of engineering experience with ownership of systems and production delivery.
• Deep backend ability: API design, data modeling, and scalable production systems.
• AI-first mindset: directing AI coding tools to implement and focusing on decisions and reviews.
• Ability to own work and make architectural and trade-off calls for scale and extensibility.
• Comfort working across the stack when needed to ship product.
• Product-minded with focus on delivering value learners actually use.

• Own the product platform and lead backend design, APIs, and data models.
• Make critical architectural calls for scale and extensibility vs. speed of delivery.
• Ship end-to-end: from design through launch and major initiatives.
