Job summary

Develop Health is hiring a Staff Software Engineer in San Francisco to turn complex healthcare problems into reliable software. This is a hands-on role with ownership from understanding user needs through launch and production.

You will build systems that remove obstacles between prescriptions and treatment, collaborating with Product, AI, and Operations. Lead architecture decisions, implement AI-native tools, and mentor peers to ship reliable software.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Ability to define clear system boundaries and balance speed, reliability, and maintainability.
• Experience working with users to identify problems and deliver practical solutions.
• Experience leveraging AI-native tools to boost productivity and quality.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end product initiatives from discovery to launch, and personally build critical components.
• Ship across backend services, UI, data models, integrations, and workflow infrastructure.
• Make architectural decisions and communicate trade-offs for future scalability.
• Build testing, observability, and AI fallbacks into the product and iterate from production feedback.
