Qualifications

• Experience leading multi-team initiatives across product areas.
• Hands-on AI-enabled development and model/tool integration.
• Strong frontend and backend system design experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead mission-critical or high-risk initiatives spanning teams and connected systems.
• Own architecture for a product area and scalable boundaries across frontend, APIs, data, and production systems.
• Hands-on system ownership: write/review code, prototype, migrate, and operate services in production.
• Identify where AI/agent workflows add value and build reusable capabilities with guardrails.
• Improve testing, observability, security, and incident response across systems.
• Mentor mid- and senior-level engineers and drive alignment through technical reviews and proposals.
• Shape product-area roadmap with leaders to connect technical work to reader, editorial, and business outcomes.
