Sonatype, a leader in software supply chain security, seeks a Staff Software Engineer in the Atlanta area for architecting agentic-first capabilities within Nexus Repository Manager. You will guide multi-agent workflows, set technical direction, and mentor engineers to deliver secure, scalable solutions at enterprise scale.

You will collaborate across Product, Security Research, UX, and Support, shaping practice and tooling for the craft while owning non-functional requirements like performance,

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software development with multi-team initiatives.
• Strong experience with Java and cloud platforms; distributed systems at scale.
• Knowledge of software supply chain security and SBOM concepts.

Responsibilities

• Architect and lead agentic-first subsystems and services.
• Own major initiatives from design through rollout and operability.
• Define evals, guardrails, and review rituals for quality code shipping.
