Job summary

Monograph is hiring a Staff Software Engineer to own the accounts and ledgering spine of our RCM platform. The role focuses on immutable, event-driven design where balances are derived from history and reporting is an emergent property of the model.

You will own cross-system initiatives, mentor engineers, and drive architectural decisions across the money path—from postings and adjustments to bank reconciliation and AR reporting—while maintaining strong security and compliance.

Qualifications

• Staff-level ownership of architecture and cross-team initiatives.
• Proven backend engineer with Python and relational databases at scale.
• Experience in financial systems, payments, billing, reconciliation, or ledgers.

Responsibilities

• Design next-gen account and ledger model with immutable events and derived balances.
• Keep balances and financial reports in lockstep; enable drift detection and self-healing.
• Reconcile multiple sources of truth (charges, remittances, deposits, reports) and surface discrepancies.
• Scale idempotent posting and adjustment pipelines across high transaction volumes.
• Operate money-critical systems on large Postgres tables with safe migrations and observability.
• Set and uphold observability standards, monitoring, dashboards, and SLOs.
• Collaborate with platform/product teams to protect sensitive data and compliance obligations.
• Own complex end-to-end initiatives from architecture to production rollout.
