Job summary

Bluesight is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for the 340BCheck team to shape architecture across front-end, back-end, and data platforms. You will lead multi-month, cross-domain initiatives and mentor engineers while maintaining a customer-focused mindset.

You’ll drive critical architectural decisions, collaborate with Product, QA, and other teams, and help scale services with a focus on reliability and observability using Terraform, React/TypeScript, Python/FastAPI, and DataDog.

Qualifications

• 9+ years of professional software engineering experience, full stack.
• Specialization in one or more areas (front-end, back-end, or infrastructure) with broad cross-stack knowledge.
• Track record of contributing to technical direction and multi-month, cross-domain initiatives.
• Strong understanding of relational databases (MySQL) with design for scale.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and end-to-end production ownership; observability with DataDog.
• Ability to influence architectural decisions across multiple teams; long-term direction.
• Excellent communication; explaining large systems to non-technical stakeholders.
• Leadership style rooted in service and collaboration; team output focus.
• Experience using Gen AI in work and advising a team with Gen AI workflows.
• Experience mentoring senior engineers and building technical judgment.
• Comfortable co-leading technical direction with other senior voices.

Responsibilities

• Set technical direction for the 340BCheck team across front-end, back-end, data, infra, and CI/CD.
• Own architectural decisions for React/TypeScript, Python/FastAPI, Terraform-based apps deployed via CodeBuild.
