Job summary

Bluesight, a remote-friendly healthtech company, is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to guide the 340BCheck team in designing scalable data products for hospital and pharmacy operations.

You will set technical direction across front-end, back-end, and data layers, own major architectural decisions, mentor engineers, and collaborate with product, QA, and other teams. This role is fully remote in the continental United States.

Qualifications

• 9+ years of professional software engineering experience across full stack.
• Specialization in front-end, back-end, or infrastructure with cross-stack knowledge.
• Track record influencing multi-month cross-domain initiatives.
• Strong MySQL relational database design at scale.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and owning production services end-to-end and driving observability (DataDog).
• Ability to influence architectural decisions across teams.
• Excellent communication; describe large systems to non-technical stakeholders.
• Leadership style rooted in service and collaboration; focus on team output.
• Experience using gen AI in your work and advising a team with AI-assisted workflows.
• Mentoring senior engineers and building technical judgment.

Responsibilities

• Set technical direction for the 340BCheck team across domains over months.
• Own critical architectural decisions for React, TS, Python, and Terraform apps.
• Lead multi-team architecture calls and align with Product, QA, and other teams.
• Drive proactive refactoring to scale 340BCheck.
• Mentor engineers and escalate critical challenges.
• Communicate tradeoffs clearly to stakeholders.
