Job summary

FlowGen Labs seeks a senior backend/AI systems engineer to define architecture and deliver end-to-end solutions. You will lead builds across Node.js services, AI workflows, and integrations with enterprise systems, owning quality and reliability.

Your work will impact how agents reason, act, and scale within SAP-augmented environments. In this in-person role in the San Francisco Bay Area, you will move fast, embrace new stacks, and drive pragmatic shipping while maintaining high craft.

Qualifications

Experience building distributed systems in production environments.
Infrastructure as Code experience with Terraform or CDK.
Strong observability using metrics, tracing, logs and SLOs.
Proficiency with PostgreSQL and vector databases (pgvector, Pinecone, Milvus).
Experience orchestrating agentic workflows and retrieval augmented generation.
Hands-on use of AI tools with practical development, testing, data, and support ideas.
Ownership mindset and clear communication across teams.

You will lead builds across Node.js services, AI and agent workflows, and integrations with enterprise systems, owning quality and reliability. Your work will directly impact how agents reason, take actions, and deliver outcomes at scale.

What we are looking for

Strong experience building distributed systems or backend platforms in production environments. Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or CDK and strong observability with metrics, tracing, logs, and SLOs.
Proficiency with Postgres and experience with vector databases such as pgvector, Pinecone, or Milvus for retrieval and semantic search.
Experience orchestrating agentic workflows and retrieval augmented generation.
Hands on use of AI tools with clear ideas for applying AI to development, testing, data, and support.
Ownership mentality, crisp communication, comfortable deciding with 80 percent information.
