Storm2’s client is a Series B FinTech with $80M raised and an established product, now building out its core engineering team in New York.
There’s serious capital behind the business, but it’s still early enough that a handful of engineers will make decisions that materially shape the product and architecture.
A lot of Staff roles give you influence by taking you further away from the code. This one doesn’t.
They want engineers who can make architectural decisions, own difficult problems end-to-end and still build. You’ll work close to the product and business, with enough autonomy that the expectation is to define solutions rather than simply execute against somebody else’s design.
For the right engineer, that means startup-level ownership without joining at the point where product-market fit and funding are still open questions.
$80M raised. Up to $360k base. Meaningful technical ownership.
The trade-off is straightforward: this is a four-day-a-week office environment in Flatiron. If you want fully remote, it isn’t the one. If you want to work closely with a strong engineering team and have genuine influence over what gets built, it probably warrants a conversation.
