Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a senior software leader to guide real-time embedded automotive software across VMEC products. You will coordinate with calibration, software and hardware teams, and vehicle program partners to ensure timely, high-quality releases.

You will provide technical leadership, design and implement embedded controls, and drive integration across ECU hardware, sensors, and actuators within a global supplier network.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Embedded Systems, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field with 7 years of software architecture/leadership experience; or Master's with 5 years.
• 5 years of real-time embedded software experience including controller hardware, sensor/actuator design, algorithms, calibration, integration testing and validation, and electrical architecture design.
• 3 years of AUTOSAR software constructs and 3 years of vehicle architecture or Software Driven Vehicle concept.
• Must be able to report to the local office and may be required to complete role-related assessments or pre-employment screening.

Responsibilities

• Identify and resolve coordination issues between calibration, software DRE, SWIM, SWIL, and hardware DRE teams.
• Act as integration manager and primary interface with vehicle program teams, vehicle assembly plants, calibration teams, validation teams, and suppliers.
• Track and report deliverable status.
• Refine, maintain, and prioritize the team backlog.
• Lead or support standard meetings such as daily stand-ups and Software Execution Team Meetings.
• Provide technical leadership, issue resolution, and technical direction for assigned products.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Embedded Systems, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field, plus seven (7) years of experience as a Software Architect, Lead Software Engineer, Senior Software Engineer, Technical Lead, or related occupation; OR Master's degree in one of these fields plus five (5) years of such experience
• Five (5) years of experience in real-time embedded software systems, including controller hardware design, sensor and actuator design, algorithm design, software development, calibration, integration testing and validation, and electrical architecture design
• Five (5) years of experience troubleshooting software and embedded controls issues - Three (3) years of experience with AUTOSAR software constructs and implementation
- Three (3) years of experience with vehicle architecture and Software Driven Vehicle concept - Must be able to report to the local office - Applicants may be required to complete role-related assessments and/or pre-employment screening

Demonstrates expertise in real-time embedded software systems, including controller hardware design and algorithm design, while providing technical leadership and managing project lifecycles in the automotive industry.
