Job summary

Jobtailor in Florida is seeking an experienced embedded software engineer to support aerospace applications. You will develop, implement, and test software for aerospace products, ensure alignment with requirements and timelines, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to define specifications and improve system performance.

The role requires 5+ years of embedded development, strong C/C++ and Python skills, and RTOS experience (VxWorks, Linux, Integrity, Deos).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics.
• 5+ years of embedded software development experience (full life cycle).
• Proficient with C, C++ and Python programming languages.
• Experience with Embedded RTOS such as VxWorks®, Linux, Integrity®, Deos™.
• Aerospace embedded software development experience.
• Awareness about DO-178 B/C.
• Experience with JIRA, Bitbucket, DOORS, and Microsoft Visual Studio.

Requirements

• 5+ years of embedded software development experience (full life cycle)
• Strong experience with Embedded RTOS, such as VxWorks®, Linux, Integrity®, Deos™
• Strong experience with computer architecture, networking and computer communications (e.g. A429, I2C, SPI, UART)
• Aerospace embedded software development experience
• Proficient with C, C++ and Phyton programming languages
• Assembly language experience
• Software verification and validation experience
• Awareness about DO-178 B/C
• Experience with various software development lifecycle
• Experience with JIRA, Bitbucket, DOORS, and Microsoft Visual Studio
• Experience of software configuration management and change management practices
• Analytical and software development skills
• Ability to work with little or minimal supervision
• Leadership and interpersonal skills, including the ability to motivate and mentor team members
• Ability to read, write and speak English
• Must be a US Citizen due to contractual requirements
