Ladders is seeking a Staff Software Development Engineer to build high-performance networking software for desktop and mobile environments. The role emphasizes reliability, scalability, and security, with collaboration across product and cross-functional teams.

You will design and implement secure networking solutions, contribute to core engineering initiatives, and tackle complex network challenges in a remote US-based setting. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on software development experience, particularly in C++.
• 3+ years of experience coding with Rust, especially in systems programming and async frameworks like Tokio and Reqwest.
• Deep understanding of networking, focusing on tunneling applications and IPv4/IPv6 transport mechanisms.
• Curiosity and active exploration of AI tools to enhance workflows.
• Experience with cross-platform development across macOS, Windows, iOS, and Android is a plus.

For our client, we are seeking a Staff Software Development Engineer to join the team of a leader in the Information Technology space.

This role will focus on building high-performance software that strengthens secure networking experiences across desktop and mobile environments. You will contribute to core engineering efforts that require strong systems-level thinking, collaboration with product and cross-functional partners, and a sharp focus on reliability, scalability, and security. The position is well-suited for a developer who enjoys solving complex network challenges and shaping technical direction on impactful platform initiatives.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $152,000 – $190,000 annually
