Job summary

Akka is hiring staff-level Site Reliability Engineers to operate and evolve the platform that powers AI agents and distributed systems. This role focuses on architecting deployment, observability, and security across AWS, Azure, and GCP, with a strong emphasis on hands-on contribution in the first weeks.

Remote in the USA, you will work with Go, Kubernetes operators, Flux, Crossplane, Terraform, and Postgres.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in production infrastructure or platform engineering.
• Experience operating Kubernetes controllers in production and tracing root causes.
• Proficient in IaC with Terraform and Crossplane in production.
• Experience managing managed Postgres in cloud environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own architecture decisions for deployment, observability, and security of the platform.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and ship improvements within weeks, not months.
• Develop and maintain Kubernetes operators and reconciler logic.
• Ensure reliability through on-call practices and post-incident reviews.
