Job summary

Rivian is seeking a Staff Service Engineer, Thermal Management Systems to own serviceability initiatives across current and future vehicle programs. This hybrid role will be based in Irvine, CA, collaborating with Design, Manufacturing, Quality and Field Service.

You will develop service parts strategies for thermal systems, lead reviews to embed serviceability early, and drive improvements with data-driven prioritization. Strong CAD/PLM and leadership are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Automotive, or related engineering field with 8+ years' experience.
• Strong knowledge of Thermal Management Systems and serviceability.
• Proven leadership in design-for-serviceability with broad impact.
• Experience reviewing designs with CAD/PLM tools and managing BOMs.
• Excellent cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder influence.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of service parts strategies for thermal systems across platforms.
• Represent Service Engineering in thermal architecture reviews for early serviceability input.
• Drive serviceability improvements using data, prioritizing opportunities with design release teams.
• Develop, validate, and maintain service repair procedures for thermal components.
• Triage engineering changes and assess service impact on parts, tools, diagnostics, and repairs.
