Job summary

Rivian is seeking a Service Engineer II, Exteriors to oversee serviceability design across current vehicle programs. You will drive service part strategies and participate in design reviews with cross-functional teams in a hybrid setting at Irvine, CA.

In this role you will manage exterior and interior subsystems, assess change content for service impact, and coordinate with parts planning and sourcing to align on inventory and long-term supply.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Technology or equivalent.
• 2+ years in service, aftersales and engineering environment.
• Experience with automotive OEM service parts management preferred.
• Ability to coordinate cross-functional and analyze changes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of Interiors change management on current vehicle programs.
• Track design changes early and define service part strategy across subsystems.
• Triage engineering change requests for service impact and actions.
• Participate in design and change review boards for service parts impact.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to develop service strategies.
• Coordinate with service parts planning and sourcing for inventory strategy.
• Investigate interchangeability of new releases with existing parts.
• Lead on-vehicle trials to validate service strategies.
• Present service strategies at internal review boards.
• Maintain tickets and report blockers and changes in stand-ups.
• Support repair instructions for field service actions.
