Job summary

Awayday Vacation Rentals seeks a Staff or Senior Accountant (DOE) to lead monthly closes, prepare external financial statements, and support budgeting and forecasting across our vacation-rental brands.

You will partner with the accounting team and operations leaders nationwide, apply US GAAP daily, drive process improvements, and contribute to strategic decision making with senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• 2–4+ years of accounting experience with knowledge of US GAAP.

Responsibilities

• Executes month-end close, reconciliations, and journal entries; analyzes revenue and expenses.
• Prepares monthly variance analyses and financial reports.
• Identifies and documents accounting policies; drives process improvements.
• Supports external financial statements and audits.
• Partners with cross-functional teams on initiatives.
• Applies US GAAP daily; conducts technical research.
• Plans monthly financial reviews with operations teams.
• Supports reporting, analysis, and special projects across departments.
• Completes year-end tax forms for owners/vendors.
• Assists with accounts payable processing.
• Other duties as assigned.

At Awayday, our accounting team plays a central role in driving the growth and success of our family of vacation-rental brands. As a Staff or Senior Accountant (DOE), you’ll be responsible for accurate financial reporting, thoughtful analysis, and supporting budgeting and forecasting efforts.

You’ll partner closely with both the accounting team and operations leaders across the country, gaining exposure to a fast-paced, multi-brand environment. Reporting directly to a Regional Accounting Manager, this position offers high visibility to senior leadership and the opportunity to make a tangible impact. Responsibilities

• Completes month-end close procedures, including account reconciliation, journal entry preparation, and review and analysis of revenue and expense accounts
• Prepares monthly financial reports analyzing variances in financial performance
• Identify, document and implement accounting policies and process improvements
• Assists with preparation of external financial statements and support of external audits
• Participates in cross functional company initiatives as necessary
• Utilize knowledge of US GAAP principles on a daily basis and assist with technical research
• Plans and executes monthly financial review with local operations team
• Supports various departments with reporting, analysis, and special projects
• Completes year-end tax forms for owners and vendors
• Assists with accounts payable processing
• Other job duties as assigned
