Job summary

Vacatia, Inc. is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead critical accounting functions, own the close process, and mentor a growing team. This hybrid role partners with Finance, Operations, and Leadership to ensure accurate reporting and strong internal controls.

You will drive system improvements and support audits as Vacatia scales its multi-entity portfolio. The ideal candidate has a CPA or CPA eligibility, 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, and a solid GAAP foundation.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership or supervisory roles.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
• Experience managing close processes in multi-entity environments (hospitality or real estate a plus).
• Proficiency with accounting systems and general ledger management.
• Advanced Excel skills with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to partner cross-functionally.
• CPA or CPA eligibility strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
• Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and financial schedules.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, variance analyses, and management reports.
• Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and ensure compliance with GAAP and internal policies.
• Lead internal and external audits, including documentation preparation and audit responses.
• Partner cross-functionally to improve financial workflows and strengthen internal controls.
• Support the integration of new resorts, entities, or acquisitions into accounting systems.
• Identify and lead process improvements that enhance efficiency, scalability, and transparency.
• Coach, mentor, and support accounting team members to drive performance and development.

What You’ll Do
